Chicago’s Deeply Rooted Dance Theater will have a chance to strut its stuff before a national audience when members take part in Good Morning America’s “Your Three Words” segment live from Millennium Park on Thursday, September 8, 2011 during the seven o’clock hour.
For the first time, Good Morning America will air the popular weekly segment from a dozen locations across the United States and Afghanistan. This unprecedented live event coincides with the morning show’s recent move to a brand new ground level studio on Times Square. It also coincides with Deeply Rooted Dance Theater’s 15th anniversary finale performance to be held at the Harris Theater at Millennium Park on December 9, 2011.
The dance members will be the only participants from the Midwest to be highlighted during the GMA segment. “We are really excited about this opportunity to showcase our inspirational message to the world,” says
Artistic Director Kevin “Iega” Jeff. “Our 15th anniversary year has been great and this is just one more highlight.”
In the past, GMA has allowed viewers to use the “Your Three Words” segment to send messages of hope to the people in Japan following the earthquake, and send well wishes to Prince William and Catherine Middleton about their wedding day.
