MOVE! a documentary filmed by Theodore Collatos features members of Deeply Rooted Dance Theater during the creation of MOVE! a choreographic work depicting the joy of the 80′s club scene and the challenges occurring with HIV/AIDS.

Join us for the launching our fall season and our second year of the Generations project with our Chicago movie premiere and Benefit. Proceeds from this event go directly to support our season’s production costs.

Set to the contemplative music of Wynton Marsalis the film follows world-renowned dance choreographers Kevin Iega Jeff and Gary Abbott and their inspiring Chicago based contemporary African American dance company Deeply Rooted Dance Theater during a winter tour as we glimpse the intimate world of the dancers and the spiritual and emotional nature of the artistic process.
